A refrigerator at the end of a forest road, a television at a rest stop, or a microwave oven by the roadside. Just a little over twenty years ago, none of these were uncommon sights. Electrical appliances were abandoned wherever they were out of sight. Today, the situation is fortunately very different. End-of-life electrical and electronic equipment can be returned free of charge to the nearest regional collection point, and small devices can be taken, for example, to the nearest large supermarket.
