The store must register as a collector store in order to collect waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) brought by consumers and to order transportation from WEEE recycling. When registering, the store receives a store-specific ID number, which must be presented when placing an order. The ID number will be sent to the email address provided in the order once the registration is verified.
If you have lost your store-specific ID number, please contact info (a) serkierratys.fi, tel. 020 703 2520 (workdays, 8-16).
If the address of the store changes, provide the new address by e-mail info (a) serkierratys.fi
Stores operating in shopping centers can perform the collection in a centralized way, in which case it is a good idea to discuss the collection policy with the shopping center before registering.
The obligation to register applies to the stores as follows:
- all stores selling EE with any external dimension over 25 cm
- grocery store at least 1000 m 2 that sells electrical and electronic devices*
- the specialty store at least 200 m 2 that sells electrical and electronic devices**
Store size refers to the sales area used permanently for business activity.
Stores that sell devices containing memory, such as cameras, computers or mobile phones, can also get registered. WEEE recycling provides these stores with a locked or sealed Data WEEE collection container.
Retail chains can register all their locations (usually around 100) at once. Request the instructions from WEEE recycling: info (a) serkierratys.fi
By registering, the store demonstrates its compliance with the distributor’s obligation specified in the Waste Act (646/2011).
