Instructions for recycling the electrical equipment

WEEE, or waste electrical and electronic equipment, refers to electrical appliances that are defective or put out of use for some other reason. Bringing the WEEE to collection points is free of charge for consumers. By following these steps you make sure that the recycling goes smoothly and that the collection is safe for everyone:

Electrical and electronic devices, with no external dimensions over 25 cm, may be brought for free and without the obligation to purchase a new product to the following types of stores:

You can bring all kinds of devices that run on electricity, batteries or solar energy to the WEEE collection location. Supplies that are essential for their use, such as chargers, adapters and extension cords, are also included in the WEEE collection. LED and fluorescent lamps are included in the WEEE collection, but halogen lamps, for example, are discarded as the mixed waste. It is a good idea to remove the lamps before delivering the lighting to the collection.

No trash

Return the devices to the WEEE collection without packaging. Take the food out of refrigerators and freezers and remove the vacuum cleaner dust bag. In recycling, preparing step is performed by a human, so you have to make sure yourself that the handling of the device is safe! Do not return chemicals, stinging and cutting objects, explosives or other objects dangerous to humans along with the WEEE.

Sorting at the collection location

Electrical and electronic equipment is sorted according to the instructions of the collection. This way, the equipment can be directed to the appropriate recycling process from the very beginning of collection: for example, televisions for recycling televisions and toasters for small crushers. Proper sorting saves the environment, as extra work steps and material transportation can be avoided.

Batteries and accumulators in battery recycling

You can remove the battery or accumulator from the electrical appliance if it can be done easily. Bring batteries and accumulators to a store for their intended recycling and electrically powered device to a WEEE collection. If you cannot take the battery or accumulator out of the appliance without difficulty, you may bring them in a device to the WEEE collection location.
